TechnoGateway Opening Reception

Join us on Thursday, September 19th, 2019 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM to celebrate the opening of the Gateway Gallery’s Fall 2019 exhibition, “TechnoGateway”.  Light refreshments generously provided by Trader Joe’s in Coolidge Corner will be served.  The opening takes place in our accessible second floor gallery space, please contact us at (617) 734-1577 for assistance operating our ground floor wheelchair lift.
The works in this exhibition by Gateway artists are based in and inspired by digital technology.  The work in this exhibition utilizes new equipment including tablets, touch screens, and computers equipped with software.  This new equipment was obtained by Gateway during the development of our newest program, Bridging the Spectrum.

To present this exhibition Artistic Director Stephen DeFronzo stepped outside the box, printing digital artwork on interesting materials like Plexiglas, vinyl, and fabric.  The gallery features a video of artist Ashley Barbour creating one of many digital drawings.  The extensive writing and world building of Michael Natale, Giovanni Ricci, and Colleen McFarland are prominently featured, giving these artists the opportunity to showcase equal to that of their more visually inclined peers.

The exhibition is accessible, free, and open to the public Monday – Friday from 9:00-4:30 PM through November 9th, 2019.
