other Ways to Give

Donor Advised Funds

A donor advised fund (DAF), which is like a charitable savings account, gives you the flexibility to recommend how much and how often money is granted to Vinfen’s Gateway Arts and other qualified charities.  DAFs offer the favorable tax benefits of giving directly to charities with added flexibility around the timing of gifts. 

You can recommend a grant or recurring grants now to make an immediate impact or use your fund as a tool for future charitable gifts. 

Please note that we are prohibited from giving legal or financial advice and none of the information above should be interpreted as such. We encourage you to consult with your own legal counsel or financial advisor before deciding whether to proceed with a gift.

Gifts of Stock

If you own securities that have appreciated in value, donating them to Vinfen/Gateway Arts may allow you to avoid capital gains taxes while also receiving a tax deduction for the full market value.

Please note that Vinfen/Gateway Arts does not provide tax advice; donors should consult their own advisers about the specific tax benefits of donating appreciated stock.

Matching Gifts

Once you’ve donated to Gateway Arts, you can double your impact by asking your employer to match your gift. 

Step 1: Contact your human resources department

Ask your company whether they match donations.  They will give you a matching gift form or direct you to their matching gift website. 

Step 2: Complete the matching gift form

Fill out and sign the employee section of the matching gift form or complete the necessary forms online. 

Step 3: Submit the form to Vinfen/Gateway Arts

Send your matching gift form to Vinfen/Gateway Arts, 15 Station St., Brookline, MA 02445.  If your company has a matching gift website, there’s no need to mail us anything; we will automatically receive notification to confirm your donation.  Your employer will send the matching gift directly to Vinfen/Gateway Arts.  All checks should be made payable to Vinfen, with Gateway Arts noted on the memo line. 

In Kind Donations

Gateway happily accepts a selection of in-kind donations. Gateway artists re-imagine everyday objects, transforming them into new and unique works of art. 

First, to determine the acceptability of your donation, please contact Bil Thibodeau at thibodeauw@vinfen.org. We do not accept donations at the door. 

The following list is to give you an idea of the kinds of items we may accept.

Heavyweight paper

String, yarn, and large fabric scraps

Wood in good shape

Heavyweight wallpaper

Canvas

Fiberboard and press board

Foam core

Frames that are sturdy and in good shape (no glass)

Greeting cards

Hangers

House paint of any type

Magazines

Matte Board

String, yarn, and large fabric scraps

Styrofoam packing materials

Tires

Toxic materials of any kind, including paints

Windows with wood frames in good shape

We welcome certain donations of service and performance, especially from musicians for our events.
