Vinfen’s Gateway Arts welcomes Oliver Katz and Edward Saywell to its Advisory Board.
The additions to the volunteer Gateway Arts Advisory Board will help advance the program’s mission and expand its support as a leader at the intersection of art, creativity, and inclusivity.
Oliver Katz is a real estate development, design, and hospitality professional who launched Pamet Group––an affiliate of C&J Katz Studio––in 2023. He began his career at Suffolk Construction and later worked at Boylston Properties, where he worked on multiple large housing, retail, and life-science projects around Greater Boston. Last year he played an important advisory role in Gateway Arts’ search for new space in Brookline Village. Katz holds a bachelor’s degree in public policy from Hobart College, and a master’s degree in real estate development + design from the University of California, Berkeley.
Edward Saywell is Chair of Prints and Drawings at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. He has served multiple leadership roles at the MFA since his arrival in 2007, including Chair of the Linde Family Wing of Contemporary Art, and has curated several critically acclaimed exhibitions. Most recently at the MFA he co-curated Witnessing Humanity: The Art of John Wilson, now on exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Saywell also generously assisted Gateway Artistic Director Bil Thibodeau and Beth McLaughlin, Chief Curator, Fuller Craft Museum, in curating work for last year’s “Moving Sale” to help underwrite the costs of our move to Station Street in Brookline Village. A native of the United Kingdom, he received his MA from the University of St. Andrews in art history and modern history and an MA in combined historical studies from the Warburg Institute, University of London.
“We’re delighted to welcome Oliver and Edward to the Gateway Advisory Board,” said Lorri Berenberg & Cheryl Katz, Co-Chairs. “Each brings unique life experience and professional expertise to an already strong and dedicated group of volunteers.”
