Christine Roche

Christine Roche, who began working at Gateway Arts in 2024, is originally from Pepperell, MA and currently resides in the Metrowest area of Massachusetts.

Roche works in a wide variety of media, ranging from acrylic painting and silk-screening to ceramics and wood-working, and everything in between. She will make art out of any materials she can get her hands on. From a young age, Roche was inspired by her mother, a fellow artist who ran a craft business, called Make and Do Crafts, out of their home. In her primarily representational work, Roche explores themes of disability, political and environmental awareness, building subtle layers of messaging in what, at first, appear to be straightforward images. As a Deaf artist, Roche is determined to share her perspective through her visual art and make her voice heard.
